GOOD MORNING FROM MIAMI

Brad started the show by taking a bizarre call from a listener named Cornelius who had a problem eliminating feedback during the call.  Cornelius began talking about beaches and murder in Miami.  Brad asked him about the city's sports teams, including the Marlins, resulting in an incoherent answer about Ken Griffey Jr. who was never played for the Marlins.  Cornelius announced he is a realtor and the poor economy, along with some luck, has actually helped him sell homes.  He said he decided to tune in today to discuss the Ebay auction with a child's legal naming rights up for grabs.  Cornelius hoped a national news outlet would pick up the story which resulted in Brad informing him that FoxNews broke the story last week, which is why it's in the news.  Cornelius seemed quite intrigued by the topic and said he would call back during the auctioneer's interview, which he failed to do.

CRAZY WEEKEND IN NEW YORK

Brad discussed the mid-air collision above the Hudson River that killed nine people in New York on Saturday.  Although reports indicate the helicopter pilot was warned by a fellow pilot that a plane was approaching, he was unable to react in time.  Brad was surprised by Mayor Bloomberg's announcement that no airspace regulations are in effect in the area that the accident occurred due to a heavy presence of tourist helicopters flying throughout the area.  Brad also discussed the Yankees sweeping the Red Sox in a four-game series over the weekend, which was unexpected after the Red Sox won the season's first eight meetings with their rivals.

MORE FUN WITH JERRY

Brad played clips of a phone call with Jerry Spencer from this past weekend where Jerry sang various karaoke songs, submitted through chat links from Brad and Brett.  They convinced him, with little effort, to sing "Man, I Feel Like A Woman" by Shania Twain, "Party Up" by DMX, "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood and various other songs.  After playing clips from the Sunday call, the guys got Jerry on the air LIVE to promote his BTR Show "The Beat" and during the call, Jerry revealed that he is a licensed pilot.  The call started with "Terrence Howard from Jive Records" offering Jerry a "$500 grand" record contract, requiring him to move to Hollywood.  Amazingly, Jerry seemed excited at first, yet ended up turning the offer down.  After the rejection, "Regis" offered Jerry a spot on the "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" to win a million dollars.  Jerry was saddened when he realized the game show offered only a chance at the money, as opposed to the guaranteed money from the "record deal."

Brad then gave Jerry trivia about the Cessna 172 that Jerry  claimed to have flown as recently as 2003.  Brad asked if Jerry happened to be flying over the Hudson River on Saturday but he said "No, I wouldn't made that mistake."

"What year was the Cessna 172 first flown?"  Jerry guessed "1972."  The correct answer was 1955.

"How many seats are on the Cessna 172?"  Jerry listed "pilot seat, passenger seat and back seats" as his answer.  Brad reminded Jerry the question was "How many seats, not a list of who sits in them."  Jerry then mumbled and correctly answered "Four."

The final question was "How many engines are on the Cessna 172?"  Jerry immediately answered "one-propelled engine,"  Which to everyone's surprise, was correct.  Brad said "I thought you would say four or 172."

Brad then asked why Jerry no longer flies and speculated it was because of his admitted mushroom use.  Jerry claims his instructor loved flying while Jerry was under the influence of mushrooms and at one point "we were flying upside down."  Jerry also announced he wanted to pilot "the President's plane," followed by an announcement that he had to go to the doctor to see if "i am still healthy or not."

Brad reminded Jerry he is scheduled to be on Wednesday's show and after disconnecting the call, speculated that he could convince Jerry that tomorrow is Wednesday and is planning to do so on Tuesday's show.

NO BABY FOR SALE - JUST A NAME

The guys got Lavonne Drummond on the line for an interview about her controversial auction, allowing the winning bidder to name her unborn son - scheduled to be born in September.  Lavonne announced that Ebay took down her first auction just hours before it was supposed to end - with a high bid of $15,000.  She re-posted the auction after fixing what Ebay claimed were violations of their auction terms of service.  That one was taken down as well within hours of posting.  Finally, the auction was back up and running with all necessary changes and bidding had reached $445 at the time the interview began.  Lavonne says Ebay claimed the wording of the first auction made it sound "like a charity."  Brad was confused as to why Ebay only seemed to care with two days left on a 10-day auction when nothing was said for the first week.

Brad announced that listeners had submitted names for her approval before they decide whether or not to bid on the auction.  The first was "Quiggley," the name of Ian Duff's cat.  Lavonne loved the name because of how different it was.  She was also open to the name "Jungle" after the show.  Brett pointed out that it does not matter what she is open to as the auction winner can choose any name they wish for Lavonne's son.  She admitted that her relationship with her sister has been strained because of this auction.

When asked if she would consider "Clay Douglas" as the child's name, she said "it's very nice, it flows well."  She said if the auction gets back up to $15,000, she would pay her phone bill.  "That's some phone bill!"  Brad exclaimed.  She then talked about how bad of shape her 2000 Dodge Caravan is in and that she is living in a house leased by her sister.  The guys recommended that she file bankruptcy, which she has considered but only as a last resort.  Lavonne feels that her third posting has had less bidding due to the removals by Ebay of her previous auctions and the fact that some copycat sellers have appeared on the site in the meantime.

Brett suggested she apply to be on "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" but that she would have to name her child "Ty Pennington."  Lavonne said she has been bouncing from state to state for 18 years, due to a military lifestyle and is unhappy living in Arkansas- where her house is "a zoo."  She stated she is not currently working but is attending a community college to pursue a career in Radiology.

When the show and interview were wrapping up, the bidding had escalated slightly, bringing the new total to $500.99 with 2 days left in the auction.  It is scheduled to end Wednesday at 10:40 a.m. Eastern time.
